Many people think that using Instagram to promote their home business is a mystery but it really is very easy to do. I will show you how to get thousands of Instagram followers that are targeted to your home business.
Personally, I shied away from Instagram because I didn’t understand how it would work for my business. I only saw it as something my daughters used to share pictures they took on their phones with one another. I finally decided to do some research on how other marketers where doing it and when I saw how easy it was it was a complete face-in-palm moment. Why hadn’t I tried this sooner? It really is that easy.
Before we get started, let me stress that purchasing followers will be a complete waste of money as you don’t know who those followers are. You want followers that are targeted and interested in what you are promoting. Not, inactive accounts that have been created by spammers. What you want to focus on is getting quality following over the quantity of followers. In no time you will be growing a nice list of highly targeted followers that will interact with you and check out your profile or bio.
Follow these easy steps to get thousands of targeted Instagram followers:
Step 1: Change your Instagram account settings from “personal” to “business”.
- Go to your profile and tap .
- Tap Switch to Business Profile.
- On the Connect Your Facebook Page screen, you’ll see all of the Facebook Pages you’re currently an admin on. …
- On the Set Up Your Business Profile page, review your business’s contact information, make any changes and tap Done.
Step 2: Connect Your Other Social Media Business Accounts
- Open the Instagram app and navigate to your profile.
- Click the gear icon on the top right corner, which will bring you to the profile options.
- Scroll down the options and select the “Linked Accounts” tab.
- Instagram will give you a list of social media accounts to link to your Instagram.
- Follow people from those accounts.
Step 3: Find More Targeted Followers in Instagram
Use hashtags to find people with the interests that will compliment what you are promoting for your business. For example: You are promoting camping gear so search using the hashtag #camping or #outdoors. You can also find famous people or businesses with a lot of followers that have the same interests and then follow their followers. For example: You are promoting a new digital game for Xbox so find the main Xbox account and start following their followers.
Pace yourself with following as you don’t want your account to get locked for spamming behavior. Follow 5-10 people at a time and like a few of their posts then comment on at least one. Say something nice about their post and maybe ask them to check out your bio. Be careful not to use aggressive or spammy messages as this turns people off right away. I get many spammy messages a day and I never read any of them. Use the golden rule, do to others as you’d have done to you. If you wouldn’t like it, either will they. Remember, people buy from people they trust so don’t do anything that will lose their trust.
Repeat this 10 times a day and you’ll start to get many people following you back. This is easy to do while you have spare time, waiting in a doctor’s office, on break at work, using the toilet — Okay, I went there but you know you do it too. To make this easier and more productive I recommend downloading and using the Crowdfire app on your device its compatible for Apple and Android devices.

Step 4: Post Great Content
Here again, don’t be spammy with what you post on your Instagram feed. I highly recommend you use the 20/80 rule on Instagram and any other social media business profile you own. Post 20% business promotion then post 80% fun or inspirational. The key to social media is attracting people to you and getting them to trust you and like what you post. If I saw a profile with nothing but things they are trying to sell I would not want to follow them because of the risk of getting spammed by them. So post things that will get people engaged with you. Believe it or not inspirational or motivational posts are very popular. Posting regular pictures of the outdoors or showing your lifestyle for just as well. You can be as private as you like with what you post but remember people buy from people they trust. Instagram has options for short videos and stories too and these can be great ways to get noticed. Get creative and have fun.
Here are some tools I use to edit my posts that make them pop and get noticed:
Canva – There is a mobile app and a program for your PC or Mac. I personally prefer the PC or Mac version as there seems to be more Free options offered for some reason.

Wordswag – I love this app. It is a lot of fun and I can use it on my phone or tablet on the go so it is very convenient.

Step 5: Use #Hashtags!
Don’t forget to use #hashtags in your posts! They are very important because you want potential followers to find you when they search on Instagram. When you use a certain hashtag you post will show up in the most recent posts for that hashtag. You can use several hashtags and add them right before you post. If you forget, don’t worry, you can always comment on your own post and add them there.
You can go to https://top-hashtags.com/instagram/ to see what the top hashtags are to use or get ideas.
Step #6: Have a great bio
This is very important so don’t skimp on this step. Make sure you add a link to your website or place you want your customers to go. Instagram is very picky about what you put as a link so be sure it is not a affiliate link or anything that will look suspicious. A blog or website link is always best. I prefer to use Bit.ly to shorten my bio link so I can track when someone has clicked on it but a url will do.
You want to have a bio that grabs attention and has a call to action. You want people to click on your website link so add emoticons and words that will make them want to click!
Here are some really good Instagram bio examples that have a call to action:
